What a gas fireplace costs to clean, repair or replace

This tier covers a part that can be swapped without replacing the whole appliance, such as a pilot assembly, an igniter or a control. The spread comes from which part is involved and whether it can still be bought for your model.

Full gas kit, $900 to $1,500

When the burner and log set are worn out or discontinued, replacing the whole kit costs less than chasing one failure after another. The kit price covers the new burner and log set, and the final figure depends on the unit and the size of the opening. A kit is the right choice when parts for the old set are no longer available, since there is nothing left to repair.

5. Whether the venting path was checked as well as the appliance.
6. One total, agreed before the work starts.

A quote that only says "fireplace repair" with a number does not give you enough to compare. The detail is also useful later, if you need to explain the work to a new owner or to another technician.

How to compare two fireplace repair quotes

Start by checking that both quotes name the same fault. One company may price a replacement igniter while another prices a whole burner, and those are different jobs with different totals.
